Rajputs on mission to educate their girls

Keeping in mind, the importance of girl’s education in today’s world, Rajasthan’s Rajput community now seems to be determined to educate their girls by bringing them out of veil and sending them to schools. In a move to encourage this, a Rajput organization Shir Kshatriay Pratibha Vikas Avam Shodh Sansthan has honoured of Rajput girl students who have scored good marks in various fields of education.
Further, to encourage girls for higher education the organization has felicitated two girls for joining the medical colleges.Speaking at the felicitation function, Union Heavy Industries Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh appreciated the step taken by the community.
He said,
“Girls are key to social uplift and an educated girl benefits two families, one of her father and the other of her husband. The time has come when this martial community will rise up again and that can be done through education only.”
Deshmukh commended the organization by saying that it has taken the ‘best decision ever’ to encourage the girl’s education in the Rajput  community. 
On the organization’s desire to establish a Rajput hostel in Pune for the girls of the community, Deshmukh said that not just girls from the Rajput community, but girls from, every community should get accommodation in Pune and assured that he will take personal care to set up the hostel in Pune.




Speaking on the occasion, Rajasthan High Court judge, Justice  Raghvender Singh welcomed the community’s drive to educate their girls and said;
“Till now we felt odd when our girls went out for studies and most of us felt it was wrong. We have to change our way of thinking and give almost every opportunity to girls to be educated.”
Singh said, "Education not only helps to make the community strong but also help them to avail protection of law provided to women." State minister Rajender Singh Gudda appreciated the efforts of community to encourage education of girls. 
Around 30 students were presented scholarships for the further studies and hundreds of students were honoured with silver merits on this special occasion. The community also offered scholarship to Divya Sarandevot of Udaipur who has scored 93 percent marks in Class X examination.
